Important Notice

CLM PHI practitioners are not medically qualified and do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Clients must seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional, such as a GP or relevant medical specialist, for any medical concerns, conditions, or emergencies. CLM PHI services are not intended to replace, substitute for, or interfere with medical care provided by licensed healthcare professionals.

CLM PHI accepts no liability for any medical decisions made by clients. We reserve the right to recommend or refer clients to an appropriately qualified professional where clients’ needs fall outside the scope of our services.

CLM PHI is committed to maintaining open and transparent communication. Where it is identified that additional or alternative support may be required, this will be discussed with the client, and appropriate signposting or referral will be encouraged.

Policy Statement – CLM PHI

Policy Statement

At CLM PHI, we believe that all individuals—regardless of age, ability, gender, race, religion, belief, sexual orientation, culture, or identity—have the right to equal protection from harm and abuse. We are committed to ensuring that no individual or group is treated less favourably in accessing support and services that promote well-being and meet their individual needs.

Our Approach

CLM PHI coaching support is designed to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their needs. We provide a safe, supportive space where clients are actively listened to and encouraged to reflect through open-ended questioning.

Our role is to facilitate—not direct. We support clients to explore options, make informed choices, and take decisions that align with what matters most to them. We do not make decisions on behalf of clients.

Our practice is guided by each individual client. Where appropriate, and based on professional judgement, we may encourage clients to take time before making significant decisions. We recognise that there is no single or predetermined approach, and we respect that the of every client is unique.

Professional Standards and Ethics

CLM PHI practitioners are members of the Association for Coaching and adhere to its Global Code of Ethics. This framework underpins our commitment to safe, ethical, and professional practice.

Key principles include:

  • Do no harm
  • Duty of care
  • Working within professional competence
  • Acting in the best interests of each client.
  • Respecting the law
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality, except where disclosure is required by law

These principles guide us in providing a service that is safe, collaborative, transparent, and supportive of the autonomy, growth, and positive change of each client.

Purpose of This Policy

This policy outlines the principles that guide the approach of CLM PHI to promoting health and well-being. It applies to all clients, including adults, children, young people, and families, and supports our commitment to helping individuals achieve meaningful and positive outcomes.

Client Contact

CLM PHI will only contact clients in relation to agreed appointments or appropriate follow-up communication.

Working with Children and Families

Our whole-family approach recognises the importance of including children and young people where appropriate. We work with children aged 3–17 in a manner suited to their developmental stage:

  • Ages 3–11: play-based and creative approaches
  • Ages 12–17: engaging, flexible, and age-appropriate methods

We do not work with children without parental/carer involvement. Written parental consent is required prior to engagement, alongside the informed assent of the child. We will respect the choice of the child not to participate.

We recognise that:

  • Every child is unique.
  • Parents/carers are the primary support system for their child.
  • A child’s well-being includes emotional, mental, social, environmental, and spiritual aspects.

The welfare, rights, and safety of children are central to all work involving families.

Safeguarding Commitment

CLM PHI is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We recognise that supporting well-being is a key part of keeping children safe and enabling positive long-term outcomes.

Our safeguarding approach aligns with:

  • UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • UK statutory guidance on safeguarding children

In all cases involving children, their safety, rights, and well-being will be prioritised.
